God has called the church to be for others - according to the bible, it is core to our identity. To say that God is with us, is to say that he has called us to reach out into the world with hopeful efforts of transformation. The ministries listed here intentionally seek to bless our local community in tangible ways.
Good Food Box | The Good Food Box is a service provided by Community Kitchen of Calgary. Emmanuel Church is a depot location, for the good food boxes. Everybody is welcome to order a good food box and pick it up a week later at the church. Small box is $15; medium box is $20; and a large box is $25. Sandwich Ministry | Once a month a group of people gather in the church kitchen to make sandwiches for delivery to downtown Calgary in order to feed those living on the street or of lower income. |
Homework Club | After School program to help kids, grade 1 - grade 6, with homework. Recreation, Snacks, and prizes included. Wednesdays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. |
Glenbrook Neighbourhood Dinner and Movie | A night out...a free night of food, fellowship and entertainment. This happens once a month. If interested, please phone the church for dates. |
Glenbrook Community Garden | If you want to reserve a raised garden box next year ($15) please contact the church. Come grow with us. |
