Education is a means through which to better engage God, His world, and all those who share this earth. Beyond Sunday morning worship, Emmanuel church seeks to nurture people with knowledge useful for living life in the full – as Jesus intended. The ministries listed below address different people of particular ages.

Sunday School – This is for children age three to grade 5 and meets during Sunday morning church service. Leader: Debbie Ekkel

Cadets – Our boys’ club meets every second Monday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm for boys in grade 2 to grade 7. Some annual events that take place are the Snow Derby, Cub Car Races and camping. Leader: Marcel Nauta

VBS – Each year VBS runs for one week during the summer and is open to kids from age 3 to those entering Grade 5. Leader: Graeme Homann More Info…


CoffeeBreak/StoryHour – A women’s Christian based study from various sources each Thursday morning from 9:30am to 11:00am with StoryHour and nursery available. Leaders: Joylaine Jonker, Katie Weening, Erin Folkerts

Youth – This ministry is for students in grades 7 through 12 and gets together twice a month. Leaders: Kaitlin Vanderveen, Chris Reitsma, Julie Stefek and Monique VanderVeen.

Summer Growth for kids and youth – Camp Chestermere is a year round Christian camp for kids aged 5-18, whose vision is to build a healthy Christ-centered community of leaders, teens and children. Located just outside Calgary in Chestermere, Alberta the camp has been a vital part of the community for 60 years, providing a venue for recreational, spiritual and social interaction for kids.  Emmanuel is proud to be a member church of this great ministry.
